Weekends...

Is it just me or are the weekends always short? I'm not talking like the time goes too fast, I'm talking like two days just isn't enough... Maybe I need to get a job working for the government and adopt a four day work week... That or else my current state of employment needs to adopt the same philosophy... This past weekend was particularly fun though. The wife and I, her sister and brother, dropped off the kiddo at the inlaws and headed over to Raging Waters! Now if you're like me then you like to take advantage of the fact that you have 16 year olds trying to tell you what to do. So you immediately go over to the Waimea wave (or the Roller coaster if your O.G.) and catch air on the hump!

Yeah I know the picture sucks but if you've been there, then you know the one I'm talking about (its on the left side). So me being your typical doofus, I wanted to try and get as much speed as possible. I succeeded and Kerra's brother said I caught about 3.5 feet of air on the hump! Well continuing to be the doofus I didn't change my speed as I coasted into the pool at the bottom and proceeded to fly across and slam, literally, into the opposite wall. It was all worth it though, especially when I was in mid air and I could hear the "oooo's" and "ahhh's" from the people below. Even the "Ohhhhh's" were worth it when I hit the wall. Well, maybe not worth the goose egg I had on my knee from the stairs but fun none the less.

Sunday was also a great day. As many of you may know, we just moved into a new house and thus, a new ward and one of our neighbors is someone you may know. Tom Monson? Ever heard of him? Yeah, he's the prophet and president of the LDS Church. And its ok if I call him Tom because everyone else in the ward does! That doesn't mean that I won't address him as properly whenever I speak to him mind you. Anyways he came to our ward on Sunday and even spoke so that was totally awesome! You can read all about what went down on our family's blog

New Idea!!!

Disclaimer: Names have been removed to protect identities and contributors to this idea but you know who you are...

So I have a couple friends that I toss my ideas back and forth with them. We try and figure out new things the world could use and how they will work. Then I have to be the pessimist and see ways that they won't work and try and work around them. However, we have a new idea! I don't know what the exact term would be for the service we are planning but in short they are Mancations (pronounced "Man" and "cation" like in vacation). Women seem to have all the fun and creative options open to them when they want to get together with their girlfriends. Men aren't that lucky. Coming up with creative things to do with your friends is always a hard thing. Putting thought into is even harder. Insert idea... This company will do the planning for you! Each package is custom designed for what your group wants to do. All you have to do is show up! I need some feed back on this one so that we can try and develop the idea so here's where you come in!

Guys that read this blog... If you are married, think back on your bachelor party... was it everything you wanted your last night of freedom to be? Now that you're married or even if you aren't married yet, are you ever able to go off with the guys and have a great time like back in the day? Of course not! It always takes so much planning and coordinating and lets be honest. Guys don't like doing that. So let me know what you think.

Women that read this blog... I'm sorry that this idea isn't catered to you. I know that you are the real money spenders in the house and I also know that my own wife will give me crap for saying that so just remember that before you post your comment about me being sexist. I will get together with the guys involved and try and come up with ways to involve you in this business venture. Until I am creative enough to do that I would like for you to think about your man's happiness. Does he ever go out with the guys? If so, do they ever do anything that amounts to anything? Don't answer that because its rhetorical, of course we don't get up to any good, that's why we're guys. Either way, tell me what you're man would think about this idea...

So there you have it. I'm leaving out some details because I don't think they are pertinent also because I don't get too much feed back as it is... maybe I should invest some time in advertising?

Some more of the book...

I had taken off my shoes a couple miles back because the mud had started to cake on them making my feet heavy. Not heavy enough to make a difference in my speed but enough to bother me. Taking them off was a good call though, I was able to be lighter on my feet and sneak up on my prey. I came in from the south towards the clearing because I could tell the wind was blowing from the north and I didn’t want to give away my presence. I had tracked him before and he knew my scent but I had the upper hand this time. His confidant had cracked, spilling the beans as to where he would be for the next couple of weeks. It's funny how breaking your femurs loosens your tongue.

I crouched, examining my target from behind the trunk of a pine tree. The smell of the bark and needles started pulling my mind away to times when I had been off with my family enjoying the outdoors without a care in the world. We would sit and laugh and tell ghost stories and other tales of the supernatural while our marshmallows burned in the fire. Ignorance truly is bliss because as soon as this new world was revealed from the mist that blinded me, I had lost my life, my love, my wife. Rage like a hammer on a pane of glass shattered those memories and brought me back to reality. It coursed through my veins and I was reminded of the first time my strength revealed itself. I closed my eyes and saw the blood flowing through my veins. Each beat of my heart seemed to force the veins to grow in diameter so more anger could pass through. The muscles in my arms and legs tingled with the familiar sensation that they were adapting to the new strength flowing through them, waiting on pins and needles to demolish whatever stood in my way.

I had no desire to try and focus my anger this time. I welcomed the hate, let it fill my body from head to toe. I opened my eyes slowly, feeling the rage making me stronger. I stepped around the side of the tree and exploded into the clearing. Judging from the beast’s expression I knew that I had caught him by surprise. The world around me seemed to stop with time as I sped towards my target. He hadn’t even had time to “shift” before I was on top of him. When I was about 50 feet away I leaped at him, lunging with all the power I had directly into his chest. I slammed into him with the force of a semi truck hitting the broadside of a compact car. Hearing the sound of his ribs crack was music to my ears, a symphony of cracking bones made an sinister smile creep across my face. He crumpled under my attack and fell to the ground with me on top of him.

Update: ...The Mold

So the verdict is in and after a lengthy cleaning session by a woman named Velma, our place should be mold free! She sounded like she new what she was talking about when it came to mold. She said that Utahn's are all going to have mold problems in the older homes because they didn't ventilate properly. I don't know if thats true but she cleaned up our place, there wasn't any mold that I could see after she left and she pronounced vinegar, winegar... it was pretty funny I'm pretty sure she was from some Slovic country...

Why would they do this?

I understand the appeal that German Cars have on the world population... predominantly the male population... And for myself, Mercedes has always been one of those cars that I said "Gee, I wish I could afford to get a Benz one day..." And now they go and do this... I know its not news to some people but others may be surprised that this car...

Is actually affordable? Obviously its no $18k Newly wed car, but starting in the low $30k's ain't bad either! So why does Mercedes torture me so?! Only a couple more years (eyes closed and fingers crossed...)

Questionable Material?

So I have had trouble coming to terms with this and I think its time for a confession. I don't deny it and I'm not going to hide it anymore. I have been looking at questionable material lately... Questionable in the sense that I know there will be a lot of you that don't approve with what it is I've been looking at but I don't care. I like it and I don't see the big deal. Pages upon pages of ink filled paper have been flying through my fingers and when I get done with one, I have to start on another! Its true! It is very addicting...

I'm talking about reading the twilight series of course... What were you thinking?

Why is it wrong for a guy to read them? And to all the guys out there, why are you afraid to read them? So there's a bit of romance involved in the books. That hasn't stopped you guys from watching the Princess Bride has it? Or Top Gun? Don't get me wrong, I am not putting these books on the same level as those movies but the point I'm trying to make is that you've sat through a lot worse movies with dates, girlfriends and wives than these books will put you through. Books are a great form of entertainment and they broaden your mind and help you out in so many ways! If you find a good book, READ IT! And don't worry about what people think about you reading a book like Twilight. There's tons of guys out there that read it. Just not as many that will admit to it.

Update: Post Move Madness...

Ok so it isn't so much of an update as it is I need help with this mold. Does anyone know of a company that can come out and test to see if there are mold problems? A disaster clean up crew? Health Department? Anyone?

Post move madness... literally...

So we got moved into our new place on Friday and are so happy to be out of the "compound". Except now we find ourselves experiencing a new kind of dilemma... Mold... Has anyone had any experience with mold in their homes? We have a utility closet in the basement that has a clogged drain with a pool surrounding the drain and mold growing in the pool. Our landlord is telling me that all homes have mold in them but mold like this? I can understand mold from your bathroom like mildew or something similar or even the mold on the bread in your kitchen. But mold growing in your basement? We decided that we'd get a mold detection kit and see what the results were. Once we wait 48 hours I'll post some pictures of the mold by then we should have something growing on the little peetree dish... (spelling on peetree?)
